I love all the cool things you can do with text messaging. In 10 Killer Texting Tricks, I wrote about some of my favorites, including Kwiry--a free service that routes text-message reminders to your inbox.
Now it's even better. For starters, you can text your TiVo. Say you're at dinner and you realize you forgot to record Battlestar Galactica . No worries: Just text "Tivo Battlestar Galactica" to KWIRY (59749) and you're all set. Kwiry will instruct your Internet-connected TiVo to record the next scheduled airing of the show.
The next time a friend recommends a movie or you hear a glowing review on NPR, you can immediately add it to your Netflix queue. Just text "Netflix" and the name of the film.
Want to share your contact info with someone you just met? Text "contact" and the person's e-mail address, and Kwiry will send them your info (including a handy vCard attachment).
Kwiry has also added integration with Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp. In short, it's significantly more useful now, and definitely worth a look for anyone who uses one or more of the aforementioned services. If you'll excuse me, I need to go update my Facebook status--from my phone.
