Scan recent top stories at Macworld.com and you see that we're all over iLife '09--from first looks, to videos, to reviews. With that in mind, we devote this episode of the Macworld Podcast to all-things-iLife.

Following this episode's installment of Mac 911 Takes to the Air!, I speak with Macworld Senior Contributor, Rick LePage, about iPhoto '09. Rick reviewed the latest version of iPhoto for us and has a lot to say about Faces, Places, and other iPhoto improvements.

Frequent Macworld contributor, Jeff Carlson, and I then discuss iMovie '09. Jeff, who's reviewed the last couple of iterations of iMovie for us, believes '09 may be feature-packed enough to finally bring iMovie HD holdouts (and yes, I'm one of them) to the re-imagined iMovie.

Show Notes

In my Mac 911 Takes to the Air! answer I mention Ecamm Networks' US$20 PhoneView, Evernote (both the iPhone application and web site) and, for jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches, iPhoneNotes.

When discussing geotagging, Rick mentions several products. They include the $30 HoudahGeo, Fraser Speirs £12 FlickrExport plug-in, and Wintec's WBT-201 Bluetooth Data Logger. I make a passing reference to the GPS unit that I plug into my Nikon D300. That would be the Geomet'r GPS receiver, which works with Nikon D300, D3, D200, D2Hs, D2Xs, and Fujifilm S5 Pro DSLR cameras.

You may also be interested in these other GPS-related utilities: myTracks, GPSPhotoLinker, and PhotoGPSEditor. GPSBabel is the engine that powers a lot of this stuff.

Fraser Speirs writes at length about Flickr support in iPhoto '09. Worth a read.

Rick runs Printerville, a site dedicated to photo printers, and is the Editor in Chief of the Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter and Web site.

Jeff has written many terrific books, including books about iMovie and iDVD. You can find an assortment of them at Peachpit Press. You can also follow his musing on his website as well as read his contributions to TidBITS.
