Xsilva Systems on Thursday announced that it's shipping LightSpeed Web Store 2.0, a new version of their e-commerce addition for their retail point-of-sale system designed for Mac OS X.
LightSpeed Web Store 2.0 lets cusotmers generate their own wish lists and more.LightSpeed features an iTunes-like browser and a "floating" point of sale interface. It can manage multi-store inventory lookups and transfers, and can work in a multi-user environment.
Web Store 2.0 is an add-on that enables LightSpeed users to mange a Web-based e-commerce store. Inspired by Apple's own online store, the major new release features a SQL-based database system that enables users to manage their own secure accounts. Customers can track purchase history and work orders and create and share lists and gift registries. It also features the ability to produce online quotes, and can help retailers "cross-sell" featured and related products. The design is template-based, so retailers can develop their own online identity for their Web store quickly.
What's more Xsilva can offer Web Store 2.0 as a turnkey hosted system, so LightSpeed customers don't need to dedicate their own servers.
LightSpeed Web Store 2.0 costs $899 and requires LightSpeed 2.8 or later and a current Support Subscription. Upgrades from the 1.x version are free for users on a current Support Subscription.
