Apple has apparently dropped another model from its line of LCD displays, with the 20-inch Cinema Display disappearing from the company's online store.
Reports of the 20-inch model's discontinuation first surfaced on the Web Thursday. Asked for comment, Apple would not confirm that the 20-inch Cinema Display had been discontinued. But typically, when a product is removed from Apple's online store, it signals the end of the road for that model.
This would be the second time in five months that Apple has removed a Cinema Display model from its online offerings. Shortly after releasing its 24-inch LED Cinema Display in October, the company officially discontinued the 23-inch Cinema Display.
If Apple has discontinued the 20-inch model, that would leave the company with just two displays in its product line. In addition to the newly unveiled 24-inch LED Cinema Display, Apple continues to sell a 30-inch LCD. (Apple's Cinema Displays page continues to include both the 20- and 23-inch models alongside the 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display.)
Displays have received little attention from Apple in recent years. Before the late 2008 release of the LED Cinema Display, it had been more than four years since Apple had redesigned its display offerings.
