BravoBug Software has announced the release of MiLife 1.3, a new version of its creative writing tool for Mac OS X. It costs US$15, and the update is free for registered users.

MiLife is aimed at people who want to use their Macs to write journals, diaries and daily notes. MiLife sports a user interface and environment designed to stimulate your creative juices; it simulates writing sounds, features ambient soundtrack and a backdrop that the developers claim will help you improve your focus.

Features include rich text support, easy photo importing, password protection, AES 128-bit encryption, ambient background tracks, HTML and Microsoft Word document export and page bookmarks. MiLife sorts your journals chronologically and more.

The 1.3 update adds user-requested features, including the ability to modify page dates and times, a new backup feature that lets you export content as a ZIP archive, a new Jump to Date feature and more.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
