Verbatim on Monday introduced its line of InSight portable USB hard disk drives. They're Mac and Windows-compatible and come in 320GB and 500GB capacities, priced at $120 and $150 respectively.
The drives both feature what Verbatim calls an "Always On display" -- a 32 x 128 pixel display that is constantly operational, even when the drive is unplugged from the computer. The display shows the drive's name, along with the amount of free space remaining.
The drives sport internal mechanisms operating at 5400 RPM and equipped with 8MB of cache memory. They connect to a host Mac or PC using a USB 2.0 port. The drives measure 6 x 3.4 x 0.63 inches and weigh less than six ounces.
