According to a new report from analysts Strategy Analytics, Apple iPhone users love features such as e-mail and Web browsing on the go but want better battery life.

The report, "Retaining and Attracting New Customers: Profiling the Apple iPhone User," claims to unveil iPhone users likes and dislikes, who they are and what existing iPhone owners will be looking for when they come to purchase their next device.

"iPhone owners use more features on a regular basis than non-iPhone owners, with two-thirds browsing the Web and sending personal e-mails daily -- features which will considerably drain battery life," according to Paul Brown, Senior User Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics.

Kevin Nolan, Vice-President at Strategy Analytics, added, "Given the importance placed on features and style by existing iPhone owners, it is important for Apple to continue to provide innovative, compelling devices, while recognising the need for improved battery strength."

Apple touted improvements of the iPhone 3GS battery at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June this year.

Among those claims, Apple said the iPhone 3GS would deliver nine hours of use on Wi-Fi, ten hours of video playback and 30 hours of music on a single charge -- about a 30 per cent upgrade to the iPhone 3G.

Some users beg to differ, blaming in part the iPhone 3.0 Software Update for disappointing battery life.

Strategy Analytics bills itself as a leader in providing strategic and tactical support for business planners around the world, with over thirty years experience and a focus on strategic and technology issues facing hi-tech companies and organizations.
