Mac software from Boinx Software and Miraizon joined the ranks of applications adding compatibility with Snow Leopard on Friday.

Boinx updated BoinxTV, its video podcast production. In addition to adding compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6, BoinxTV 1.4 also includes support for Axis network cameras and streamlines production workflow.

The update is free for existing users. Otherwise, BoinxTV costs $499, with a sponsored edition available for $199. You can use the software free for five days in demo mode.

Miraizon updated its collection of Cinematize DVD movie clip extraction applications for Snow Leopard. You can download Cinematize 2 Pro for Macintosh 2.03 and Cinematize 2 for Macintosh 2.07 from Miraizon.--Philip Michaels

Werck updates Checkout point-of-sale app

The latest version of Checkout adds a new Web store to the Mac point-of-sale software from Werck.

EnStore is a pay-as-you-go Web store that integrates with Checkout 3. Users manage products in Checkout and sync them with EnStore, with the ability to track online orders and customers directly in Checkout.

That's not the only feature added to Checkout 3. The application has a brand new interface to set up product variations like sizes and colors. A rebuilt project manager boasts improved search functions and lets users edit and delete multiple products at once. Checkout 3 accepts down payments and deposits on orders. And because of improved support for barcode scanners and magnetic swipe readers, Werck says is point-of-sale program completes retail sales faster.

Checkout 3 costs $399. It runs on Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later.--PM

Zervix releases PDF Checkpoint

Zervixk Solution's new PDF workflow automation offering, PDF Checkpoint 1.0, is now available. The software perflights, exports as images, and splits multiple PDF files.
