HP drops prices, boosts specs of Envy 13 and 15 notebooks

You know those HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 notebooks we were so excited about last year? The ones that look suspiciously like a Macbook Pro, have great hardware and design, have few flaws aside from a very big price sticker? Well, they just got a whole lot more attractive.

The Envy 13 has dropped in price by about $300, and now starts at $1,499. That price gets you a Core 2 Duo SL9300 CPU and Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU. Not much of a change on that model, outside of the reduced price.

The Envy 15 is the one that gets the biggest boost. The starting price has been seriously slashed to $1,299 with a Core i5 CPU (Core i7 CPUs are available, too). The standard graphics card is now the excellent Mobility Radeon HD 5830 with 1GB of RAM, a bit of an improvement over the 4830 in the previous model.

Both systems are available for order today from the HP site.
