Ubisoft has put up a teaser site hinting at the return of the Driver franchise. While there's no gameplay in the trailer, the clip and its website hint at a few parts of the action-driving series' return.
The video appears on Ubisoft's Driver website, entitled Driver1999, which could serve as proof of the game's title or setting. Additionally, as the car starts, a sequence of numbers (likely years) start flashing, with 1999 serving as the first in the group.
After the car mysteriously changes models in mid-drive, the game shows a San Francisco 49ers logo, which might reflect a return to the original game's locale. The original game, which was released in 1999. One final addition to the teaser is only revealed when you become a fan of Driver on Facebook. Upon doing so, you're presented with a few extra seconds of footage, showing a California driver's license for John Tanner the game's original protagonist. We've included a screencap of the bonus below, but we still heartily recommend following Driver on Facebook, just to see if the game ends up being as intriguing as its first clip.
