The release of the white iPhone has been delayed until later this year, according to a press release from Apple. The white version of the best-selling smartphone was originally slated to hit stores this summer, but due to manufacturing challenges, Apple has held it back.

"White models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected," reads the statement.

Apple released a press statement last month stating that the white models are a challenge to manufacture and that they would be delayed. Now they've been delayed again. Who knows when we'll see the white rhino -- I mean, iPhone; a creature apparently just as difficult to spot.
