If you’re fed up of potentially stressful and tiring shopping trips, it might be time to turn to your Lego collection for help (assuming you have plenty of patience). After all, you can do anything with Lego, and that includes making your clothes.

Tomasz Zając’s Lego Loom Machine can knit all your clothes for you. The machine, built predominantly from Lego bricks, runs off a Lego Mindstorms NXT kit. Like an actual loom, the Lego machine takes a reel of wool and separates it into strands. An arm then runs another wool strand across the others, and pulls it firm—this creates the weave typically found on knitwear garments.

Living in the UK, I’m quite the fan of a good knitted scarf or jumper in the winter, so this DIY loom is like a dream come true. Who wouldn’t want unlimited jumpers, right? Who knows; it might be enough to convince you to take up weaving as a hobby. Sadly, there are no instructions to create your own, but Tomasz has a great photo library of the build.
