Music service Spotify has posted an update of its client for Apple's iPhone, the company said on Tuesday in a blog post.
The most significant new feature in the update is the ability for users to share tracks and playlists via SMS (Short Message Service). However, that feature is only compatible with iOS version 4, according to the blog post.
The company has also added a new high-resolution icon for iPhone 4, and fixed "a crash some users experienced with the what's new tab." Spotify also fixed "an issue with the inbox not updating with new tracks in certain cases," which allows users to share music, the blog post said.
The update is now available from the Apple iTunes App Store. The Spotify iPhone application is free, but accessing the service using a mobile phone costs
Besides the iPhone, Spotify is also available for smartphones based on the Android and Symbian mobile operating systems. The service is available in Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.
