Translating toys to the big screen is not an easy feat, as recently evidenced by the Transformers and G.I. Joe series, but The Lego Movie might just have a shot at being a critical success.

First of all, it’s a movie about Lego minifigs going on an adventure. Who in their right mind doesn’t want to see that? Second, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the directors; they're the guys who somehow reimagined Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs as one of the best animated movies of 2009. Although BioShock Infinite’s Songbird might not make an appearance, expect plenty of cameos from the vast world of Lego characters when The Lego Movie “assembles” next year.
