Excuse me while I run around screaming. Jason Allemann's Lego Strandbeest isn't so much cool as it is something that elicits a response of, "Oh, god, please don't let it get me!" But if you think about it, that's plenty cool too. Inspired by Theo Jansen's Strandbeests and powered by the Lego Powerfunctions system, this skittery, multi-legged menace is something you can build at home—sort of. You'll have to figure out most of the mechanical bits yourself. Be sure to stare at Jason's Flickr gallery, too.
