The horror is over. Facebook is back to normal.

Facebook said it blamed network maintenance for troubles that kept users around the world from posting updates Moandy morning. Users also couldn’t upload photos, share websites, or make payments during the outage.

Facebook said the outage has been fixed and that all users should be up and running as normal. It lasted for a few hours Monday morning, Facebook said,

“Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time,” a Facebook spokesman told Computerworld. “We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”

While Facebook was still straining

There are plenty of big stories in tech Monday, but we couldn’t post most of them to Facebook because of intermittent outages.

If you tried to post a status update on Facebook’s website or app Moday morning, you may have seen an error message. Many people did. But the error doesn’t occur every time, nor has it happened to every user. We reached out to Facebook’s representatives to find out what’s causing the issue, but haven’t yet received a response.

The outage is affecting more than just updates. Other users are reporting problems with liking or commenting on posts.

The Facebook Developer portal is showing a significant error count and issues with Payments, but it’s unclear if those are all part of the same problem.

Suffice to say, Facebook users are real upset. Luckily, Twitter is here to help people communicate their Facebook outage angst.
