Kinect Sex

Come on, no one's surprised that a developer went and cobbled together a game that lets you air-tweak virtual body parts with Microsoft's Kinect motion sensor, are they?

It's real and nearly here, though the video everyone's gabbing about is of an as yet nameless demo product. But it's as hands-on (or off, technically speaking) as you can probably imagine...even if you'd rather not.

Blame the folks behind "3D Lesbian," "3D Gay Villa," and "3D Sexvilla 2." That would be ThriXXX, a company best known for explicit sex games staged with highly detailed 3D avatars.

"First working demo of Kinect controller for sex games interface!" declares ThriXXX's press release, which reveals the company plans to add Xbox Kinect support to its line of "simulation" video games.

"Simulation" would be the polite way of referring to a product line flush with virtual flesh. You won't find ThriXXX selling Kinect "flight" or "racing" simulations, in other words, though I suppose there's always the possibility of a Sexvilla "Mile High Club" expansion.

ThriXXX cites "recent events in the Kinect Hacker community and the Open Sourcing of device drivers" that allow access to Microsoft's Xbox 360 motion-sensor under Windows 7 as the impetus behind the company's (utterly predictable) move toward Kinect-enabled sex games.

Hackers unlocked Kinect's 3D camera for various motion-control demos shortly after the device debuted in early November. Someone even managed to get it working under Windows 7 just days after its release, prompting tortured semantic responses from Microsoft who first denied, then eventually accepted their existence.

"The Kinect interface provides another exciting interface option for users of the sex simulation software to control the experience in extraordinary new ways!" says ThriXXX, calling its "completely new sex game" a "magical experience."

"The Kinect Controller is astonishing new technology that allows users to experience cybersex like never before!" said Brad Abram, ThriXXX vice president of business development. "It's novel, sexy, social, age-spanning, crazy, and a rush to have virtual control at this level."

Sure, and kind of creepy, when you think about guys--and you know it'll be mostly guys--using "full body or hand gestures, voice commands and even real world sex toy objects like vibrators to control interactions in-game and between two active participants."
