The complete 3D solution comes with 120Hz and 240Hz pattern retarder/shutter glasses technology featuring System-on-a-chip (SoC) technology, making MediaTek's solution the first of its kind. SoC tech are typically referred to as a system completely integrated on a single chip that can run more powerful software--than say microcontroller. MediaTek's system can run various 3D media formats including multiview video coding (MVC), 3D Video on Demand (VOD), 3D Blu-ray, and more.
At CES MediaTek will also display their latest in Smart TV technology that include video calls, VOD, and wireless connection. MediaTek hopes to improve consumer entertainment and streaming utilizing the latest in 3D advancements, Bluetooth, and wireless PAN.
Before you know it, 3D tech will be in everyone's living room. Now we just need to see how well the complete 3D solution compares to all the other advancements in 3D tech being displayed this year at CES before you put it there.
