GeekTech sees many amazing hacks and gadgets that can take you back to your childhood. For example, just yesterday we spotted the Nanocade Kit that turns your netbook into an arcade game cabinet. However, the computer controlled like an Etch A Sketch rather than a mouse has to be the most epic yet.

Inspired by other computer and Etch-A-Sketch hacks, NortHACKton’s Martin Raynsford went to work using pretty basic materials. The two controller buttons are made out of bottle caps, and the frame is an MDF frame mounted onto a monitor. He also used roller balls from an old mouse for the control, did a little wiring and aligned the LED and sensor properly to make sure the hack worked efficiently. A little bit of gluing down and volia! the Etch A Sketch computer mod was born!

Check out the video below to see the computer hack in action, and check out Martin’s speedy Etch-A-Sketch skills. A childhood well spent, maybe?
