TwitPic Founder Ditches Clothes, Twitter Founder Ditches Job

Noah Everett really has nothing to hide: He posted overnight to Twitter, including a photo via the TwitPic service he created, almost immediately upon being picked up by the cops in Charleston, S.C., for strolling down his street in the buff.

Everett, who has 2.8 million people following him on Twitter, tweeted: "Getting arrested...in the back of a cop car now" … "Proof http://twitpic.com/5igfmy "... "I guess you can't walk down your own street half naked...who knew - I got a free ride home by the nice police officer."

A fourth tweet, "…by half naked, I mean naked" showed up, then disappeared. (Some reports have raised the question of whether Everett really did get nabbed, without confirmation one way or the other from Everett or the police.)

TwitPic enables users to share media in real-time, sometimes for good (such as distributing pictures from the Haitian earthquake last year) and maybe sometimes not, as in Everett's case (though at least the TwitPic he sent was just of the view from the cop car, not of himself at that moment).

Separately, we think, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced in his blog and via @biz on Twitter ("Our new startup, in case you haven't guessed, is obvious.com") that he was leaving the company as creative director to focus on new ventures with old friends.

Twitter has undergone a series of management changes in recent months as the company figures out what sort of business it wants to be. Moves have included the departure of co-founder and former CEO Evan Williams, with whom Stone will reunite at Obvious.

Stone wrote in part on his blog: "My plan is to take a bit more time to focus on helping schools, nonprofits, and company advisory boards as well as The Biz and Livia Stone Foundation. I'll still commit part of my time to hands on help with Twitter wherever and whenever I can be of assistance.

"As for the bulk of my time day-to-day, I'm thrilled to announce that Evan Williams, Jason Goldman and myself will be relaunching The Obvious Corporation as co-founders. Our plan is to develop new projects and work on solving big problems aligned along a simple mission statement: The Obvious Corporation develops systems that help people work together to improve the world."
