Note: This review covers v8.2 of the software.

Who knew organizing your digital photo collection could be so much fun? Ashampoo's Photo Commander gives you the basic tools you'd expect to find in a photo management utility--editing, red-eye reduction, batch renaming--as well as some fun creative project helpers that give you something to do with your photos other than gaze lovingly at pages and pages of thumbnails. The user-friendly and intuitive interface makes it a plus for those who just want something to keep track of all those family snapshots, and maybe create a Web-based photo gallery, without all the bells and whistles a pro might need.

Some of the more entertaining features of the product include wizards that help you create and print a 12-month photo calendar, a photo collage, or a greeting card. You can also make more mundane creations, such as contact sheets, but why stop there? The Photo Mix wizard will let you blend images from two photos together, which can lead to some pretty funny stuff if you pick the right two images.

With simple tools that just make sense, Ashampoo gives you the power to command your entire photo collection with just a few mouse clicks.
