If that were the entire story--it might be enough. But there's more. Express Dictate allows encryption for HIPAA compliance, compression, as well as annotations in its .dct format. It also tracks your dictations and lets you easily forward them to stenographers or typists via email. Also included are modules for recording over the phone and via the Web plus Express Scribe, which looks similar to Express Dictate, but is optimized for those aforementioned typists to who are playing back, not recording dictations. There's also a simple wave editor that offers more editing features that the simple mark and cut of the dictation module for wave files up to 96kHz.

Though I didn't have any foot controllers on hand to check out, using the keyboard controls everything worked as advertised. I might like to see a few more editing functions such as noise reduction within the dictation module to simplify things, but all in all, the Express Dictate package is well worth checking out for anyone who deals with dictation in any way.
