HealthChecK integrates with Microsoft Word, scanning your documents to find formatting errors and suggest fixes.

This program is most useful for folks who depend on Microsoft Word's Styles to set up their documents. HealthChecK compares formatting in documents to the parameters set in Word's Styles, then flags each instance where the formatting deviates. This isn't particularly useful if you do a lot of formatting on your own. However, the program also calls out stray italics and underlines, letting you easily clean up your docs.

I came across a few rough edges, in my tests. For example, it often called out problems with numbered lists in cases where there weren't any such lists in the document. It also tended to flag paragraphs where underlining, bold, or italics are used for emphasis, warning that the formatting may be in error.
