Here at GeekTech, we cover lots of hacks for the Nook Color, and maybe some of you go ahead and give the hacks a try. However, if you are the type of person that would love to run, say, a "full version" of Android OS but don't have the confidence to hack from scratch using ROMs, then Nook2Android offers a great solution.
Nook2Android sells MicroSD memory cards for the Nook Color, which are designed to not only allow you to boot into Android Honeycomb and the Android Market, but also to return to the original operating system without having to remove the card. Also pre-installed on the cards are apps such as Gmail, Facebook, and Pandora. The OS can be installed by just turning off the device, slipping in the memory cards and then switching back on again--no warranty voided.
The cards are available in three sizes (8GB, 16GB and 32GB), though they don't exactly come cheap. If at least $35 isn't money you want to give up, take some time to read up on how to boot from scratch. Although if you're looking for a way to dual boot conveniently without the risk of bricking your Nook Color, Nook2Android is proably the best option.
