You can now make the same kinds of cards you know and love from iPhoto on your iOS device, thanks to the new Cards app, announced at Apple’s Let’s Talk iPhone event on Tuesday.

The app allows you to choose from 21 card designs (both debossed letterpress and flat); from there, you can insert your own pictures, text, and provide a mailing address for your recipient. From there, Apple will have the card printed and mailed, and you’ll receive a push notification on your phone when the card has been delivered.

Cards will cost $3 to mail anywhere in the U.S.; international prices are $5. The app will be available on October 12 for free.

We’ll update this story with more information as it becomes available.
