Netflix Makes Good on Promise to Amp Up Streaming Content
Netflix and the CW Network have signed a four-year deal to stream past seasons of all CW's scripted shows, including those that just debuted, through the 2014-15 season, Reuters reports.

That's over 700 hours of mind-numbing television from the Warner Bros. and CBS-owned network that brought you such teeny bop favorites as "The Vampire Diaries," "Gossip Girl," "90210" and "One Tree Hill." Squee!

This deal--which is estimated to be worth $1 billion-- brings a bounty of new stuff to watch and honors the promise that Netflix CEO Reed Hastings made during the Qwikster fiasco to add a "substantial" amount of new material.

An Expanding Array of Great Shows

If teenybopper TV isn't your speed, Netflix has partnerships with other networks and now boasts some of the greatest content out there. For instance, the best stuff from AMC is on Netflix Instant Watch, including the first four seasons of "Mad Men"; the first four of "Breaking Bad"; and, just recently, the first, six-episode season of "The Walking Dead."

Netflix also has cult favorites "The Wonder Years," "Friday Night Lights," "30 Rock," and all the Star Trek you could ever want with the original series plus Voyager, The Next Generation, Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, and more.

Check for Latest Streaming Content

Sometimes great new programming arrives on Netflix Instant Watch, but you don't discover it until way too late. I recommend bookmarking, the most in-depth source I've found for new content added to Instant Watch. includes sections for New and Noteworthy, Most Popular in the Last 24 Hours, and Notable Titles Expiring Soon, and the most popular and expiring soon feeds also have related Twitter accounts to follow.

You can also scope out FeedFliks and Streaming Soon, both of which offer queue-management shortcuts and glimpses into the material that's making Netflix Instant Watch less of a dumping ground for the unwatchable.
