Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void and Fallout 4 released this week, which means every other company sprinted towards the nearest bomb shelter to wait for this all to blow over. Which is a fancy way of saying it’s dead out here. Even PornHub took a hit.
That story and more, below. This is gaming news for the week of November 9-13.
My favorite trailer on the Citadel
As promised, BioWare put out a Mass Effect Andromeda trailer on November 7. And it’s just as devoid of useful information as you probably guessed. It does, however, feature Jennifer Hale’s soothing voice.
Puuuush
Two delays this week, as we reach the end of the year and developers go “Oh $#^%, there is no way we’re going to be able to ship this.” Both Banner Saga 2 and Rollercoaster Tycoon World have reportedly been pushed back to 2016.
Tom the (Level) Builder
Earlier this year Daedalic announced it was creating a game adaptation of Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth, which I imagine is about as massive an undertaking as building a cathedral from scratch using only Medieval technology. Here’s our first look at the game:

Sure, you played Homeworld. And you played Homeworld 2. But did you play…Impossible Creatures?
Released in between the two Homeworld games, Impossible Creatures is a Relic game that quite literally became a relic. It disappeared from sale, never made it to digital, and was hard to find through the typical used-game channels. And I mean, who would sell a copy of a game that lets you build your army out of pieces of different animals? It was Spore before Spore.
And now it’s finally on sale through Steam.
Moon physics
If you can tear yourself away from Fallout for a few seconds, the new Rocket League mutators released this week. MOON PHYSICS. TIME WARP. GIANT BALLS.
It’s pretty damn great. Here’s the announcement again, if you missed it:
GG
When Twitch launched its new Creative channel a few weeks back, it celebrated by streaming every single episode of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. And it was, arguably, the best thing Twitch has ever done. Sorry if you missed it.
But you didn’t really miss it. Twitch announced this week that they’ll keep spreading The Joy of Painting, streaming one full season of the show every Monday evening from 3:00 – 9:30 Pacific. And they’ll be doing another massive marathon each year starting on Bob Ross’s birthday, October 29.
Dragon Valley
Say what you will about Battlefield 4’s launch, I think it’s pretty cool DICE is still supporting the game with new content two years after launch. And free content, now. They’re bringing back Battlefield 2’s Dragon Valley map next, and you can get a sneak peek here:
It’s because of the nude mods, right?
I got a PR email from PornHub this morning. I mean, that’s pretty awesome in and of itself. “Hey ma, porn companies are sending me PR emails. I made it!”
The reason, though? PornHub’s traffic apparently dropped by 10 percent when Fallout 4 released on Tuesday—a loss of 6 million users. Congratulations, everyone. We did it.
