Despite being highly anticipated, we haven’t seen much of Telltale’s Game of Thrones game yet. Telltale’s public focus and its convention presence this year has been all about that other game, Tales from the Borderlands.
Sure, we’ve seen a handful of Game of Thrones teaser images, if you want to call quotes from the books a teaser image, but that’s about it aside from this enthralling thirty-eight second announcement trailer. (Yes, that was sarcasm.)
Despite the fact that we literally know less about this Game of Thrones project than we do about the new Star Wars films, Telltale PR rep Laura Perusco confirmed on Twitter recently that the game is releasing this year, 2014.
@RatedR2012 No specific release date announced yet, but I can confirm that the season IS premiering later this year. 🙂

That doesn’t leave Telltale with a ton of options. By my count there’s about two months left before we all make New Year’s resolutions to go to the gym more often and stop drinking Mountain Dew—resolutions that no human being could possibly keep for more than a month a day. And judging by the release schedule in November (Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, not one but two Assassin’s Creed games, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4) I’m going to go ahead and call Game of Thrones for an early-to-mid-December release.
Either way, Game of Thrones is coming. Winter is coming. Stay vigilant.
