The Modern Bow Tie Collection is a selection of bow ties aiming to not only make a statement, but also tell a story and recycle old products. Nicholas created the ties originally to stand out at the New York Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) exhibitions, but now wants to pass on his creations to the public.
The bow ties vary in design and materials, though many of them are super geeky, making them super cool. For example, one tie entitled “Talk To Me” is composed of QR codes, circuits, and ethernet cables, while another is purely Lego blocks. Each one has a story tied into an event or exhibition at MoMA.
Of course, Nicholas is hoping anyone interested in his outlandish bow ties would help him raise $15,000 on Kickstarter. The money pledged would go toward two launch events (pledgers invited), marketing, and producing the accessories, as well as other goodies like shirts and aprons. If you want a bow tie though, you’ll need to pledge at least $150, or $500 to get the designer creating your very own idea.
Check out Nicholas below explaining his idea and how you can help:
If you want to get your hands on one of these three-dimensional bow ties, just head over to the Kickstarter project page.
