According to the Tobii Web site, the Gaze Interface can be used to control any technology. That includes zooming in and auto-centering maps, as well as controling an input device. However, the technology seems to shine the brightest in conjunction with a touch pad. By controlling your environment with your eyes and using the touchpad, a more intuitive and somewhat Minority Report-like experience can be had.
It’s hard not to envision a world where Gaze and Microsoft Kinect can pair up and actually provide a real next generation approach to input devices. We could very well be looking at the future of technology. Heck, can you imagine combining Gaze, Kinect, and Siri all into one interactive input device? It would kind of make Tom Cruise look like a chump in Minority Report.
