It’s an unusual postcard, but it has all the standard postcard-y stuff printed on soft wood (i.e. lines on one side for an address, a space for your message, and a clean, blank surface on the front). The idea is that you grab a sharp or semi-sharp object (a standard house key will do the trick) and carve your own message on it, carve in the destination address, and maybe even add a nifty little doodle on the front.
You’ll end up with a postcard that’s both unique and highly personalized, which is a great way to make the recipient feel kinda special… don’t you think?
Curiosite says that the DIY Wooden Postcard is begging “that you carve a heart shape on it, pierce it with an arrow, and write two lovers’ names one on each side of the heart”, but take your time and do it properly; at $6.94 a pop, you want to make sure you spell that special someone’s name right on the first try.
