The root undertaken by developer Drunkdebugger shows Ice Cream Sandwich running on an older Nokia smartphone. Details on this hack are somewhat scant, but we know that he used the NITdroid Project (bringing Android to Nokia) to help. Drunkdebugger says that the hack is in “pre-pre-alpha”, so it’s probably not something you’ll want to try just yet.
This warning is just as well, because while the lock screen looks and works fine, once you begin using the phone, the software seems to be a little glitchy. Although it’s an alpha, it will be interesting to see how this hack improves over the next couple of months. Check out the video below to see the Androidified N900 in action:
