DupeRAZOR – Duplicate Files Removal Kit from Urban Twilight Studios finds and removes duplicates (duplicate files) from your system and thus helps you to save disk space and to prevent performance loss. Unfortunately, duplicate files are very easily gained – some applications may install the same driver files, or you can simply download or copy the same file without knowing or remembering it. This unneeded data uses up your valuable disk space and even can have negative influence on your system’s health and performance. DupeRAZOR compares files using the most advanced and up-to-date file comparison technology and finds true duplicates no matter what name has been applied to these files. Beside of lost disk space, duplicate files can be the reason for performance loss and in the worst case even crash your system causing loss of data or other disastrous results. Choose with the self explanatory user friendly interface the folders that you want to scan and use DupeRAZOR’s Smart Selection Feature to assist you in deleting found duplicates. This Feature lets you automatically select files according to predefined filters: first/last entity on the list, newest/oldest entity on the disk. Set in the options to move the marked files to the recycle bin or delete them completely – for safety you can also use DupeRAZOR’s Vault to store the duplicated files. You’ve likely got dozens or even hundreds of duplicate files
taking up megabytes of disk space on your PC. Duplicate
photographs, music files, documents, and more clog up your system
and take up useful storage. But good luck finding them all;
duplicate files are often found in different directories, so it can
be hard tracking them down. And they may even have different file
names. DupeRazor Duplicate Files Removal Kit looks for duplicate
files, then deletes the ones you don’t want–at least, that’s the
idea. I found in my tests that it sometimes calls files duplicates
that in fact are different files, so you’ll want to use this tool
Tell the DupeRazor which folders you want to check for duplicate
files, then it goes about its business. It works quite quickly, and
on my system checked several thousand files in only a few minutes.
It then reports on files it believes are duplicates, putting files
it believes are copies of one another into groups. Put a check box
next to any file you want to delete, and the program kills the file
and moves it to the Recycle Bin.
But be very careful before putting a check next to a file,
because DupeRazor Duplicate Files Removal Kit sometimes calls files
duplicates that aren’t really duplicates. Right-click any file,
select Open File, and you’ll be able to view it. That way, you can
make sure that the files really are duplicates.
If you have lots of duplicate files, are willing to check its
work, and don’t mind paying $20, you’ll find DupeRazor a useful
tool. Otherwise, it might not be worth your while. A better bet is
