Nanocade Kit Puts Arcade Gaming on Your Tabletop

Modding PCs into working arcade cabinets is nothing new, but they’re often bulky affairs that take up a bunch of floor space. Homebrew cabinet designer Rasmus Sorensen is hoping to change that by providing the world with a kit that makes gaming cabinets portable affairs.

We’ve already seen one tabletop rig for a high powered Lenovo notebook. For those who don’t want to shell out the cash for a top-of-the-line notebook, the Nanocade uses a netbook (or a mini-ITX motherboard and monitor) along with a joystick and a few buttons to provide users with a portable form-factor arcade cabinet that can play a host of classic games like Galaga and Ms. Pac Man.

Sorensen says that the kit will be available in March for the rather reasonable sum of $349 plus shipping.
