The phones aren’t “official” Facebook phones, but there is close integration between the social network, the software and the hardware. There’s a dedicated button on both phones that lets you access your account instantly. The button is also “context aware,” according to HTC, and offers a different function depending on what the user is doing. You can also instantly share photographs or music from the phone. Status updates and profile information are also tightly integrated within the phonebook. Both phones run Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread.
Aimed at a younger crowd, the ChaCha and Salsa don’t exactly have mind-blowing specs. The ChaCha sports a 2.6-inch display, 480-by-320 pixel resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera and a full-QWERTY keyboard. It sort of resembles the HTC Dash, the Windows Mobile 6.5 phone from about two years ago. The Salsa is a full touchscreen phone with a 3.4-inch 480-by-320 pixel display. It has a 5-megapixel camera as well as a front-facing camera. No word on processing speed for either of these phones.
