Businesses can now aggregate in a single place the presentations that their employees have posted on SlideShare and thus create a company-branded network of experts on the popular presentation-sharing site.
IBM is the first company to build such a network on SlideShare to increase the visibility of the participating employees and boost the company’s expertise image with customers.
This new service builds on SlideShare’s launch in February of its Channels microsites, which vendors can sponsor and create to promote their wares through the posting of presentations.
At SlideShare, business presentations and documents can be posted, viewed, rated and commented on. The site attracts about 40 million unique visitors per month, most of whom are businesspeople.
Presentations are typically uploaded by individuals or organizations to promote their products and expertise, as well as to simply share slides that they consider to contain valuable and interesting information.
SlideShare previously offered free accounts aimed at individuals, but in August launched three additional tiers of paid accounts: Professional (US$19 per month), Business ($49 per month) and Enterprise ($249 per month).
