The retailer’s latest endeavour sets out to solve many a farmers problem–pesky birds attacking valuable crops. Conrad’s creative solution combines car audio equipment, along with a variety of differing lighting products–all presented in traditional scarecrow form.
When a unwanted bird approaches the seemingly normal scarecrow the robotic scaring begins. As the creation opens its arms, a warning cries “Achtung, Achtung!”, and a flashing of lights and blasting of music soon begins. A blast of air, courtesy of a desk fan, has also been thrown in for good measure. Check it out:
Of course, thisa pricey solution for scaring birds, and the birds may wise up to its scare tactics eventually. However, it is without doubt an interesting use of readily-available technology.
