Want a little more visual oomph for your gaming rig? Gateway has just announced three new super-slim 16:9 LED displays that claim stunning visuals, sleep design, and reasonable prices. While we haven’t yet seen these new displays for ourselves (and therefore can’t speak for their actual quality), they sport some impressive specs.
While you might want to spring for the FHX2152L (21.5-inch) or the FHX2402L (24-inch) displays with their 2 millisecond response time, going for the FHD2303L (23-inch) model with its 5 millisecond response might be a little more attractive: The FHD’s asymmetrical design and transparent case make it appear to be floating.
The larger two of the displays have an all-digital HDMI interface, and all three have VGA and DVI ports. With LED backlighting, these monitors lack mercury, and use almost 70% less power than traditional displays, and are Energy Star-rated. While these displays are competitive both in terms of specs and design, how do they stack up in terms of price?
Both the 23-inch FHD with its floating display and the 24-inch FHX should retail for about $249.99, and the 21.5-inch FHX should go for $189.99, and Gateway says they should be available sometime later in October.
