The price and availability for Dell’s Venue Pro smartphone has leaked on Amazon’s U.K. Web site ahead of its official launch.
An unlocked Dell Venue Pro is priced at £499.99 (US$696) on the site, and the phone will become available on Nov. 8.
The smartphone was launched two weeks ago at Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS launch, and Dell said the handset will be available during the “holiday season.” Dell said it would be available through T-Mobile in the U.S. but did not specify the carriers in other countries.
The device, which is targeted at professional users and customers, comes with a 4.1-inch display and a slide-out keyboard. The smartphone runs Windows Phone 7, and will run mobile versions of Microsoft’s Office suite software for business users to view or write documents.
The handset comes with a 5-megapixel camera and is powered by a 1GHz processor from Qualcomm. In the future the company also plans to launch a smartphone resembling the Dell Venue Pro based on Google’s Android OS, though the company hasn’t announced a release date for the product.
Dell already offers the Streak handset, which has a 5-inch screen and smartphone features to make calls. It also offers a smartphone with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, which goes by the name of Mini 3i, or Aero, depending on the country.
