Reader Rob loves his Google Calendar, but he’s tired of the default view, which presents the entire month. What’s more, there’s a 4 Days option on the view toolbar, but what he really wants is five days. How can he get a five-day view and make it appear every time he visits his Web-based calendar?
Easy. All it takes is a quick visit to GCal’s Settings page. Here’s the step-by-step:
1. Open Google Calendar in your browser, then click Settings, Calendar settings.
2. Roughly midway down the page you’ll see the Default view setting. Click it and choose Custom View.
3. Right below that is a setting called, aptly enough, Custom view. Click it and choose 5 Days. (Notice that the field immediately above, the one you changed in step 2, automatically adjusts from Custom View (4 Days) to Custom View (5 Days).
4. Scroll to the top or bottom of the Settings page and click Save.
That’s it! Now, every time you open Google Calendar, you’ll see the Custom View–and five days’ worth of your schedule.
