So which place will be the best for waiting in lines that stretch around the block? I spoke to representatives of each store in the Boston area and they all gave their opinion as to which location was best.
The Radio Shack in Boston — which will be opening at 7 AM on the 15th for pre-orders — claimed that it is the best place to purchase the iPhone 4. Radio Shack is promoting a trade-in program wherein customers can relinquish old electronics — such as your iPhone 3GS — and put the value of said device towards the price of the iPhone 4. Because of this program, the rep I spoke to said that Radio Shack can guarantee the lowest price and therefore is the ideal location to buy.
Wal-Mart will not be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4. When asked whether Wally World would sport shorter lines, the rep said that it’d be “about the same” compared to the Apple Store and Best Buy.
Best Buy begins taking pre-orders starting tomorrow. Depending on how many pre-orders flood the gates, the Best Buy rep said that it may be a great place to buy.
In addition to nabbing the latest iPhone at physical retail locations, you can also pre-order on Apple.com and AT&T’s Web site.
So where will you go to buy the latest Apple gadget? Or are you going to skip the mania and shop online?
