The Samsung Comeback is a horizontal flip phone with two screens and a full QWERTY keyboard. It is targeted at frequent messagers with easy access to e-mail, text, picture, video, and instant messaging. It also comes with a 2-megapixel camera with digital zoom, an MP3 player, and supports up to 16GB of expandable memory. It comes in pearl white plum and frost silver cherry.
I got my hands on the pearl white plum Comeback, and while the color combination is quite eye-catching, the handset’s design is a little clunky. The front screen is small and low-resolution (128-by-128 pixels), but there’s a 240-by-400 pixel display on the inside. The QWERTY keys on the inside are awfully thin and felt pretty slippery. The Comeback will be available today for $130 with a two-year contract with T-Mobile.
The Samsung Gravity 2, another messaging phone with a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard, is the successor to the Samsung Gravity, which launched last year. The Gravity 2 also comes in fun color combos (including berry mauve and metallic pumpkin) has a 2-megapixel camera and camcorder, an MP3 player, and supports up to 16GB of expandable memory. The Gravity 2 will be available sometime in August. Price has not yet been announced.
