Bummer. Because what most Apple watchers, including me, want to see most is the mythical tablet device that’s appeared only in grainy photos and shaky videos from dubious sources. Sadly, the latest rumors from the Wall Street Journal’s AllThingsD blog say the tablet won’t appear until sometime next year.
So be it. The tablet was always a long shot anyway. But what’s the second-best thing the Apple faithful could wish for? An appearance by messiah CEO Steve Jobs, naturally, and there’s a very good chance that will happen, according to a Monday tweet by CNBC business reporter Jim Goldman.
Will Jobs really show? After all, Goldman’s been wrong before, particularly in his reporting on Jobs’ health problems. Then again, Goldman does have access to Apple (and the media-shy Jobs) that other journalists only dream of.
All this leads us to our PC World poll below. Which is most likely to appear at Apple’s September event: A next-gen iPod; a tablet device; or Mr. Jobs himself?
Facts, who needs them?
Like UFOs, Yeti, and El Cupacabra, Apple’s mythical tablet device has been seen only in grainy photos the list, shall we?
