Mark Kline wants to know how to make Windows open all folders in the Details view.
Geeeze! You’d think people could just be happy with the defaults Microsoft gives them!
Well, since you’re not (and to be honest, I’m not, either), here’s how to set the default in XP and Vista.
First, set a particular folder to the view you want. Select View, then Details (or whatever you prefer).
To make that the default, select Tools, then Folder Options. Click the View tab, then the Apply to All Folders button.
To set an open folder to the view you want, select Views, then your preferred view, such as Details.
To make that the default, select Organize, then Folder and Search Options. Click the View tab, then the Apply to Folders button.
