In the second in a 10-part series looking at the changes in Windows 7, our colleagues at InfoWorld take a look at new desktop features. For starters, Microsoft has eliminated the Sidebar and replaced it with a new feature called “Windows Gadgets.” In addition, a clutch of applications formerly included with Vista (such as Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Mail, and Messenger) are now regarded as “add-ons” and you have to download and install them separately.
