Do you need to move around apps, clean up your contacts or share files to your smartphone or tablet. If you think controlling your Samsung device with your computer might be easier and more efficient, I'll teach you how in today's Techtip.
We'll be doing this with software called SideSync. So download that for your PC or Mac and also for your smartphone or tablet.
Once you download it you have the option of syncing with your phone via USB or over the wireless network. While we were able to use the software wirelessly, we found that USB was a bit more reliable.
Once connected you'll be able to navigate your phone using your computer. You'll be able to move, organize and launch applications, compose text messages and do just about you could do on the phone itself. We found it easy to move applications from our computer onto the phone, but a bit harder to go the other way.
In another setting you can use your mouse and keyboard on your phone, almost like extending your desktop. Your mouse goes right from your screen onto your phone and you could use your keyboard to type.
For the IDG News Service, I'm Nick Barber and that's your TechTip.
